Stage 1 viewership numbers for the first two days of IEM Cologne Major 2026 released by ESL on June 3 evening:
Peak and average concurrent
Peak concurrent: 1,418,000 across Twitch and YouTube combined during the paiN vs FlyQuest opening match on June 2, 10:30-11:15 CEST window. The peak hit during the third quarter of the second map (Nuke), with paiN closing out a 16-13 win after a comeback from 8-5 down at half.
Day 1-2 average concurrent: 612,000 across the broadcast hours. The average tracks 18% ahead of the 2025 Cologne Day 1-2 same-point read (519,000), and matches the pace of the 2024 Cologne run that finished with the highest aggregate viewership of any CS2 Major.
Platform split
Twitch carried 71% of the concurrent viewership window (1.01M of the 1.42M peak), YouTube 23%, and other platforms (Steam.tv, Trovo regional streams) the remaining 6%. The Twitch share has trended down 2 percentage points from 2025 Cologne, with the shift mostly absorbed by YouTube's broadcast share rather than the smaller platform share.
Regional language streams
Beyond the English main broadcast, the Portuguese (Brazilian) stream pulled 138k peak during the paiN-FlyQuest opener — the largest non-English peak of the cycle so far. The Russian stream pulled 94k peak during the BetBoom-Imperial Day 2 match. The Mongolian stream pulled 67k peak during Chinggis Warriors vs SINNERS, the largest Mongolian-language CS broadcast peak on record.
