CS2 Spring Forward Update: Fever Case, Five New Collections, and Map Changes

CS2 Spring Forward Update: Fever Case, Five New Collections, and Map Changes

Valve dropped the Spring Forward update for CS2 on March 31, delivering one of the largest cosmetic additions in the game's history alongside meaningful map changes. The update introduces the Fever Case, four new weapon collections, a refreshed Armory, and map tweaks to both Inferno and Train.

The Fever Case

The headline addition is the Fever Case, available through the Armory. It contains 18 community-designed weapon skins and introduces Shattered Web knives with Chroma custom finishes as rare special items — a first for CS2. The AWP Printstream leads the case as the most sought-after skin, continuing the Printstream line's legacy as one of CS2's premium skin families.

Four New Weekly Drop Collections

The free weekly care package rotation has been completely refreshed with four new collections:

  • Ascent Collection — Color-themed designs with varied patterns
  • Boreal Collection — Nature-inspired cold-weather aesthetics
  • Radiant Collection — Bright, vibrant color palettes
  • Train 2025 Collection — Updated for the active duty map pool, featuring the AWP LongDog as the highlight skin

The Bank, Italy, Lake, and original Train collections have been removed from the weekly drop pool, making existing skins from those collections potentially more valuable on the market over time.

Armory Refresh

The Armory also received new content, including the XM1014 Solitude — a limited-edition skin with randomized finishes that costs 15 Armory Credits. Each version appears unique, giving it a collectible quality similar to case-hardened patterns.

Inferno Changes

Inferno received several competitive-focused adjustments:

  • Banana widened to better match the CS:GO version of the map — a change the community has requested for over a year
  • Simplified backgrounds at T ramp, Pit, and Bombsite B
  • Removed the step at Arch hallway sides
  • Fixed pixel gap at Coffin
  • Improved crate placement on balcony steps
  • Adjusted props, player, and grenade collision throughout

Train Fixes

Train's changes were primarily bug fixes and visual improvements:

  • Fixed shadow rendering through A main windows
  • Patched world geometry holes
  • Simplified wall geometry at Z door, upper B entrance, and Ivy
  • Shortened A site overhead roof rail for easier utility throws
  • Fixed grenade collision on upper B arch
  • Replaced transparent grating with solid versions for better visibility

Market Impact

With nearly 100 new cosmetics entering the game simultaneously, the CS2 skin market will see significant movement. The removed weekly drop collections could see price increases as supply dries up, while Fever Case skins will be closely watched as the community determines their value. The Shattered Web Chroma knives in particular could command premium prices given their novelty.
