PGL has officially confirmed that the second CS2 Major Championship of 2026 will head to Singapore, marking the first time Counter-Strike's most prestigious tournament has been held in Southeast Asia. The PGL Singapore Major 2026 will run from November 25 to December 13 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, with 32 teams competing for a $1.25 million prize pool.
A Historic First for Southeast Asia
After the Perfect World Shanghai Major broke the barrier for Asia to host a CS Major in 2024, Singapore will now bring the experience to Southeast Asia for the first time. The Singapore Indoor Stadium can hold up to 12,000 spectators, and with Singapore's status as a global travel hub, the event is expected to draw fans from across the region and beyond.
"Singapore has been host to exciting esports events such as The International... we look forward with much anticipation to hosting our first Counter-Strike Major in 2026," said Jean Ng of the Singapore Tourism Board.
Format and Schedule
The tournament follows a three-stage format spread over nearly three weeks:
- Stage 1 (Nov 25-28): Opening stage for Contender teams
- Stage 2 (Dec 1-4): Challenger stage
- Stage 3 (Dec 7-10): Legends stage
- Playoffs (Dec 11-13): Champions stage at Singapore Indoor Stadium with a best-of-five grand final
PGL's Major Legacy
This will be PGL's fifth Major as an organizer, adding to an impressive resume:
- PGL Krakow 2017
- PGL Stockholm 2021
- PGL Antwerp 2022
- PGL Copenhagen 2024
The 2026 Major Calendar
With IEM Cologne confirmed as the first Major of 2026 (June 2-21), the PGL Singapore Major completes the two-Major calendar for the year. Teams now have two massive targets to plan their seasons around — one in Europe and one in Asia.
Qualification paths will be announced in the coming months. Based on current form, teams like Vitality, NAVI, and Falcons will be eyeing direct invitations, while dozens of others will battle through open and closed qualifiers for their shot at Counter-Strike's biggest stage.
