Team Spirit closed out PGL Astana 2026 on May 17 with a clinical 3-0 sweep of Team Falcons in the grand final, defending their Astana title and adding the first trophy of 2026 under interim coach S0tF1k. The map-by-map: Spirit 16-12 on Dust2, 13-7 on Mirage, 13-10 on Ancient. The Falcons side that arrived at the final after a 2-0 sweep of Magic in the semis crumbled under structural Spirit pressure, never reaching map point on any of the three.
donk and the second-highest MVP rating ever
Danil 'donk' Kryshkovets closed the tournament with a 1.61 rating — the second-highest tournament-MVP rating ever recorded at a CS2 Big Event. He topped the scoreboard on 71% of the maps he played, never dropped below 1.22 across the entire event, and posted 1.63 in groups, 1.42 in the quarterfinals, and 1.95 in the semifinals against MOUZ. A 1v3 clutch in the grand final itself became the highlight reel that defined the trophy presentation.
11th MVP — surpassing NiKo and GeT_RiGhT
The award is donk's 11th career MVP, which makes him the most-awarded rifler in Counter-Strike history — surpassing Nikola 'NiKo' Kovac and Christopher 'GeT_RiGhT' Alesund, who each held 10. In the all-time MVP table he now sits fourth, behind only dev1ce, s1mple, and ZywOo. He turned 19 in January 2026.
Spirit ahead of IEM Cologne
The trophy is also Spirit's first since BLAST Bounty Season 2 2025 and the first championship under S0tF1k as coach while hally remains on leave. Reaching the finals of their last two events going into IEM Cologne Major 2026 (June 2-21) puts Spirit firmly in the Stage 3 Legends bracket conversation, alongside Vitality, NAVI, Falcons, MOUZ, FURIA, Aurora, PARIVISION, and The MongolZ.
