Team Vitality made short work of Aurora in the first semi-final at BLAST Open Rotterdam on March 28, sweeping the Turkish-international roster 2-0 on Inferno and Nuke. The world's number one ranked team looked imperious once again as they marched toward yet another grand final.
Map 1: Inferno — Vitality Win
Vitality controlled Inferno from the opening rounds, building a strong CT-side economy that Aurora couldn't disrupt. ZywOo was particularly impactful with his AWP, locking down banana and denying Aurora's B executes repeatedly. Aurora managed to string a few rounds together in the second half but never seriously threatened Vitality's lead.
Map 2: Nuke — Vitality Win
Nuke followed a similar pattern. Vitality's coordinated ramp and outside control on T-side gave Aurora's defense headaches throughout. ropz delivered several multi-kill rounds that broke Aurora's economy at critical moments. MAJ3R tried to rally his team with aggressive mid-round calls, but Vitality's individual skill advantage was simply too large to overcome.
Vitality's Dominance Continues
The 2-0 sweep extended Vitality's remarkable winning streak and underscored the gap between them and the rest of the field. With ZywOo maintaining his incredible group stage form (1.62 rating) and ropz warming up for what would become a tournament-defining grand final performance, Vitality looked unstoppable heading into the final day.
For Aurora, the semi-final exit still represents a strong tournament. The team made playoffs from a tough group and showed they can compete with the world's best, even if the margin against Vitality proved too wide.
