Recoil Case

Complete Recoil Case breakdown — every skin, why it's now discontinued, live case price, and which skins have appreciated the most.

Released July 2022
Status ● Discontinued (Rare Drop Pool)

The Recoil Case released in July 2022 and was moved to the Rare Drop Pool during the January 2026 rare drop pool freeze — it no longer drops from playing. This makes Recoil Case supply capped and prices for its skins increasingly upward-pressured.

Covert-tier skins: AK-47 | Ice Coaled, USP-S | Printstream. Classified: Dual Berettas | Melondrama, Desert Eagle | Night Heist, M4A1-S | Printstream. Recoil Case Printstream skins (USP-S, M4A1-S, Desert Eagle) are the flagship draws — one of the most-liked visual identities in CS2 finish design.

Discontinued case status means the Recoil Case itself trades at a growing premium too — from $0.05 at release to $2–4 in 2026. Live pricing on the Case Market Health board.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the Recoil Case?

The Recoil Case contains 17 weapon skins including two covert-tier: AK-47 Ice Coaled and USP-S Printstream. The Printstream art style debuted in this case and has since become one of the most-liked CS2 finish families. Classified: Dual Berettas Melondrama, Desert Eagle Night Heist, M4A1-S Printstream.

Why is the Recoil Case discontinued?

On January 9, 2026, Valve moved a batch of older cases (including Recoil, Dreams & Nightmares, Snakebite, Fracture, Prisma 2 and others) from the active drop pool to the Rare Drop Pool. Rare Drop Pool cases have a drastically reduced drop chance — effectively they no longer drop from playing. This has driven the Recoil Case price up 40–80x from release.

Is the Recoil Case worth opening?

By EV: no. Discontinued case openings have the worst EV in the game because the case itself is expensive ($2–4) while the average skin drop value has not increased proportionally. However, buying a case as inventory (not opening it) is a valid speculative bet as supply drains.
