Falcons Sweep FURIA 3-0 to Win IEM Cologne Major 2026

Team Falcons closed out one of the most anticipated grand finals in modern Counter-Strike history on June 21, sweeping FURIA 3-0 in the IEM Cologne Major 2026 decider to claim the organization's first-ever CS Major title. The match, played in front of a packed LANXESS Arena in Cologne, ended with the same 13-8 scoreline on Mirage, Anubis, and Inferno.

How the Series Played Out

Falcons controlled the tempo from the opening pistol. On Mirage, the Saudi-backed lineup opened with a comfortable T-side and never surrendered momentum. FURIA answered briefly on Anubis, but Falcons regained control after a tactical timeout and rode m0NESY's AWP into the map win. Inferno was the tightest of the three, with FURIA taking an early CT lead before Falcons swung the map on the back of NiKo and kyousuke's rifles.

Historical Weight

The victory ends a lengthy Major drought for the roster's marquee names. Between them, NiKo and m0NESY had made 18 combined Major appearances without ever lifting the trophy. Karrigan collected his second career Major title, becoming the oldest Major winner in Counter-Strike history at 36 years old. Coach Danny 'zonic' Sørensen claimed his sixth Major crown, having previously won four with Astralis and one with Vitality.

Prize Money and Format

Falcons took home $500,000 from the $1,250,000 prize pool. The 2026 edition was the first IEM Cologne to carry Major status, and it ran from June 2 through June 21 with 32 teams and playoffs at the LANXESS Arena. The result cemented the roster - karrigan, NiKo, m0NESY, kyousuke, and TeSeS - assembled only two months earlier on April 22.
