CS2 Arabesque and Spy Tech Armory collections analyzed a week after launch

The Arabesque and Spy Tech collections, added in the July 9 CS2 update as part of Premier Season 5, are the two headline Armory collections of the summer. A week after launch, the market has begun to stabilize enough to draw preliminary conclusions about which items look like long-term investments.

Collection structure

Both are Armory collections with no traditional case to open — instead players pull skins for 4 Stars a drop, buy them on the market, or craft them through trade-ups. Each collection includes 17 items with the standard Armory rarity structure: 2 Covert, 2 Classified, 3 Restricted, 4 Mil-Spec, and 6 Industrial Grade.

Arabesque

Arabesque leans into Middle Eastern ornamental art: gold mosaics, geometric lattice work, calligraphy-inspired flourishes, and nods to Arabian mythology (jinn and serpent motifs). The two Covert items are the AWP | Sovereign Flame and the AK-47 | Consequence of the Jinn — both immediately in high demand as Armory Coverts always are.

Spy Tech

Spy Tech goes in the opposite aesthetic direction — covert, technical, modern. The collection draws from espionage aesthetics: camo panels, hidden cameras, glitchy digital readouts. It's the more meme-friendly of the two, and community sentiment on Reddit has been more polarized than Arabesque's fairly uniform positive reception.

Typical Armory curve

Standard Armory pricing behavior: high initial prices that drop 40-60% over the first month as more are unboxed via Armory Passes, then a slower descent to a floor over the following 3-6 months. Season 5's Armory drops will be no different — expect Covert prices to descend from launch highs through August.

Buy or wait?

If you want a specific Armory piece for personal use, waiting 3-4 weeks post-launch is generally the sensible play. If you're speculating, the market history for previous Armory Coverts (e.g. from the Fever and Gallery cases) suggests that FN copies of the top-two Coverts tend to hold their launch value best.
