The AWP | Desert Hydra in Factory New is the showcase covert of the Operation Hydra Collection (May 2017), depicting a coiling many-headed serpent across a sand-and-bronze desert canvas. Among Hydra-era AWPs, Desert Hydra carries the highest collector recognition — a six-figure asset class on Skinport spreads.
Why FN is mandatory
Desert Hydra is a hand-painted artwork skin, and the serpent's scale detailing degrades visibly in MW and beyond. FN preserves the full design integrity, including the fine cross-hatch shading inside the serpent's coils. Collectors target sub-0.04 floats for the absolute cleanest scope-side reading.
Hydra Collection scarcity
The Operation Hydra Collection has been retired since the operation pass closed in 2017, and AWP drops within it were already rare. FN Desert Hydra is essentially a closed-supply asset — turnover is measured in months, not days.
