About ★ Bayonet | Freehand
The ★ Bayonet | Freehand in Field-Tested is one of the most quietly artistic Bayonet finishes in CS2. Released with the Operation Hydra Case (May 2017), Freehand applies sketch-style ink illustration over the original 2013 Bayonet — figures, motifs and line-work that read as a tattoo artist's flash sheet rendered onto steel.
Why Freehand stands apart
Most Bayonet finishes commit to a single visual concept (chrome polish, web pattern, paint splatter). Freehand commits to technique: the entire finish is hand-sketched ink work. No two angles read the same way because the ink figures are densely packed across the play face. Among Hydra Case knife finishes, it's one of the most artistically distinctive.
FT in context
Freehand's ink illustration tolerates wear better than precise graphic finishes. At FT the line work softens slightly, which can read as authentic ink-on-steel aging. The visual cost-to-savings ratio at FT is the strongest in the Bayonet Freehand range.
