About ★ Butterfly Knife | Damascus Steel
The ★ Butterfly Knife | Damascus Steel in Factory New is the flagship configuration of one of the more pattern-driven Butterfly finishes in CS2 — Damascus Steel's wave-pattern metallurgy on the Butterfly's flippable blade, with each pattern seed producing distinct wave variation visible during the flip animation.
Pattern hunting
Damascus Steel's wave pattern is generated by the seed, with some seeds producing tightly-banded waves and others spreading them across the blade. Tight-band patterns command modest premiums over loose-band copies. The Butterfly's flipping animation makes the wave pattern particularly visible during gameplay, and FN preserves the wave-pattern crispness at peak clarity.
Why FN matters
The Damascus wave pattern relies on edge-detail clarity for the metallurgy texture. MW already shows wear softening the wave bands; FT visibly muddies the pattern. FN preserves the original Bravo render with sharp wave delineation. Float-hunters target sub-0.03 floats for the cleanest wave reads.
