About M4A1-S | Hyper Beast
The M4A1-S | Hyper Beast is one of the most-recognized M4 skins in CS2 — a visceral, monster-themed design that became an instant classic upon release in February 2015. Created by acclaimed graffiti artist Brock Hofer, Hyper Beast is the bridge between the muted launch-era M4 finishes and the colorful, illustrative direction Valve took in subsequent collections.
Design
Hyper Beast features a snarling, fanged monster head wrapped around the M4's receiver, with vibrant pink, blue, and orange tones. The illustration style is dense and aggressive — closer to graffiti or punk-rock album art than typical weapon paint. Brock Hofer's signature linework is visible in the creature's textured fur and exposed teeth, making the design feel hand-drawn even at gameplay distances.
Drop Source & Supply
Hyper Beast drops from the Chroma 2 Case, which is in active drop rotation. This means new supply continually enters the market via unboxing. Active FN supply is large — ~18,000+ worldwide — making Hyper Beast one of the most accessible Covert M4s for collectors.
Market Position
Hyper Beast FN trades at ~$441 — affordable relative to other Covert M4s. Through 2025-2026 it has appreciated +6% per year, slower than supply-locked alternatives. The lower appreciation reflects expanding supply, not weak demand. The skin has streamer staying power: it's been used continuously in CS2 content since 2015, generating decade-long cultural visibility.
