About ★ Stiletto Knife | Damascus Steel
The ★ Stiletto Knife | Damascus Steel in Field-Tested is one of the most quietly competent knife pickups in CS2. Released with the Horizon Case (November 2018), the Stiletto introduced a side-out folding mechanic with one of the most natural inspect animations in the game — and Damascus Steel pairs it with the layered forging pattern that reads as authentic blacksmithing rather than decorative effect.
Pattern character
Damascus Steel is procedurally varied — every seed produces a slightly different fold pattern across the blade. Unlike Doppler with its discrete phases, Damascus has no canonical rare patterns, so price is driven by float, polish and personal aesthetic preference. Some traders prize seeds where the fold lines run along the edge; others prefer cross-cut patterns.
FT in context
At Field-Tested floats around 0.20-0.25, the polish is still strong on the spine but starts to soften at the edge — exactly where the layered Damascus pattern is most visible. Compared to MW or FN, FT keeps the knife's authentic blacksmith feel without the price premium of pristine condition.
