About ★ Ursus Knife | Blue Steel
The ★ Ursus Knife | Blue Steel in Factory New is the cleanest expression of the gunsmith-bluing finish on CS2's largest knife model. Released with the Horizon Case (November 2018), Blue Steel applies a heat-treated dark blue oxidation across the Ursus's wide blade — and at FN the bluing gradient reads at full authenticity.
Why FN matters on Blue Steel
Blue Steel's defining characteristic is the subtle color shift across the blade — darker at the edges, lighter in flat zones, mimicking real gunsmith bluing. That gradient flattens with wear; at MW the shift becomes harder to read; at FT and below it disappears entirely. FN is functionally required for the design intent.
Ursus + Blue Steel as a coherent pickup
The Ursus's wide blade gives Blue Steel the largest canvas in the line for the bluing gradient to develop visually. Compared to Blue Steel on Karambit or Bayonet, the Ursus version reads as the most authentically forged. For collectors who prioritize finish authenticity over knife model prestige, this is a deliberate pickup.
