FURIA Esports booked their spot in the IEM Cologne Major 2026 grand final with a commanding 2-0 sweep of Aurora Gaming on June 20 at the LANXESS Arena. The Brazilian side made short work of the Turkish contenders, ending Aurora's Cinderella run.
Map 1: Dust2 — 13-9
Dust2 opened the series and set the tone. Brazilian riflers KSCERATO and yuurih topped the scoreboards with 18 and 17 kills respectively. FURIA's structured T side broke Aurora's defense repeatedly, and the CT half was clean.
Map 2: Nuke — 13-4
The second map was as dominant as any of the Cologne Major playoffs. FURIA's Nuke defense was unbreakable, and their T side attacks flowed from control of ramp and yard. Aurora managed only four rounds, unable to solve anything FURIA threw at them.
Key Individual Performances
- KSCERATO — outstanding across both maps, Series MVP-level
- yuurih — supporting star
- molodoy — the young Kazakh AWPer stepped up
- FalleN — steady IGL presence
- YEKINDAR — impact and utility
Aurora's Journey Ends
Aurora's Major finished at 3rd-4th place, worth $80,000 and a massive boost to their VRS ranking. XANTARES and company can walk away proud of their run. The Turkish CS scene has never had a better Major performance.
FURIA's First Major Final
The result put FURIA in their first ever CS2 Major grand final. For FalleN, it was his first Major final appearance since ELEAGUE Boston 2018 with SK Gaming. The 34-year-old veteran was one match from a second Major trophy — the first as a player in over eight years.
