Team Spirit finished the IEM Cologne Major 2026 at 3rd-4th place, worth $80,000 and their best Major result of 2026 so far. The Russian-flag side went out 2-1 to Team Falcons in the semifinals after leading Stage 3 unbeaten.
Stage 3 Dominance
Spirit's Stage 3 was clinical:
- 2-0 vs NAVI (Dust2 13-11, Anubis 13-8)
- 2-0 vs Aurora
- 2-0 vs a third opponent
- 3-0 record entering playoffs as #1 seed
The G2 Marathon
The quarterfinal against G2 became one of the most watched CS2 matches in history — the quadruple-overtime Mirage that peaked over 2 million concurrent viewers. Spirit won 2-1, but the marathon may have taken something out of them.
Semifinal vs Falcons
Spirit fought hard against Falcons but ultimately lost 2-1 in overtime-heavy fashion. Anubis went to Falcons 16-14 in OT. Spirit responded on Mirage 13-8 (after being down 8-1 in the first half — a genuinely astonishing recovery). The decider slipped away.
donk Watch
Danil "donk" Kryshkovets was Spirit's top-rated player throughout the Major:
- Stage 3 rating: top three at the event
- QF vs G2: 1.36 series rating
- SF vs Falcons: matched m0NESY blow for blow
His EVP was practically automatic. There was no shame in this Major — Spirit's Cinderella runs and general contention level cement donk as one of the elite three or four players in the world.
