HLTV confirmed that ticket demand at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles forced organisers to relocate the CS2 Grand Final on August 23 to the 20,000-seat Accor Arena, the same venue that hosted the historic BLAST.tv Paris Major in 2023. For Team Vitality, that means a chance to lift a trophy on home soil in the very building where French fans have made themselves internationally famous.
Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut carries the weight of the local expectation. The four-time HLTV Player of the Year and reigning No. 1 individual talent in the world has spent 2026 rebuilding after a mid-season dip, and enters EWC Paris with the roster settled and firing. Vitality currently sit fifth in the Valve Regional Standings and third in the overall EWC 2026 club standings behind Natus Vincere and ahead of Falcons.
The tournament runs from August 12 to 23, features 32 teams, and carries a $2,000,000 prize pool for the CS2 event alone. Twenty-eight sides qualified through the Valve Regional Standings; the final four spots come from a 128-team open qualifier held in Paris from August 7 to 9. The main event will run through Paris Expo Porte de Versailles across a double-elimination group stage before condensing to 16 sides for the single-elimination playoff bracket.
The obstacles are stiff. MOUZ arrive as the hottest team in Counter-Strike after their Malta title. Spirit will be motivated to reset.
