Format reminder
The 32-team field opens with a single best-of-one round per group — deliberately spicy since bo1 upsets have historically been common at EWC. Winners advance to a bo3 upper-bracket match; losers drop to a bo3 elimination bracket. Top four per group reach the single-elim playoff (August 19-23), with a bo5 grand final on Sunday.
Storylines to watch this week
Group D remains the death bracket (NAVI, FURIA, MongolZ, 9z, magic, paiN, Wildcard, 3DMAX). Vitality plays at home in Group C alongside MOUZ, FUT, 100 Thieves and Lynn Vision — expect early bo3 fireworks by August 14.
