FURIA opened their 43-day Porto Alegre bootcamp July 21 morning at the FURIA training facility — the extended prep cycle ahead of the BLAST Rio Major 2026 home event (October 15-27). This is FURIA's longest bootcamp on record and the deepest pre-event commitment for a Brazilian roster since IEM Rio 2022.
The 43-day timeline
- Weeks 1-3 (Jul 21 - Aug 9): Individual + team fundamentals, physical conditioning, map-pool rebuild (Anubis + Nuke priority per post-patch meta).
- Weeks 4-5 (Aug 10 - Aug 23): Tier-1 scrim block — paiN, Liquid, MIBR, Complexity as primary scrim partners. International scrim block Vitality + Spirit via remote (Vitality-remote scrims Aug 12 + 18 confirmed).
- Weeks 6-7 (Aug 24 - Sep 2): Americas RMR final prep. FURIA are direct-invited to the Americas RMR (August 28 - September 2 in São Paulo).
The FalleN return to full practice
FalleN (35) returned to full team practice sessions after his mid-year retirement consideration (announced July 6, resolved by continued participation through Rio cycle). His personal statement at Day 1:
"July 6 I said I would evaluate after the Rio Major. That evaluation happens after October 27. Between now and then — full commitment. Full practice. Full presence. My family will be at the arena. The Brazilian community will be at the arena. Coach snappi of Falcons said he watched my career for 15 years — those 15 years all built to this 43-day bootcamp. The 43 days matter. The Rio Major matters. Everything else evaluates after."
arT's Semifinal target confirmation
arT (IGL, opening press event):
"I said Semifinal on July 6. I said Semifinal today. If we don't reach Semifinal at our home Major, the 43-day bootcamp was insufficient. That's the accountability we commit to. Winning the Semifinal — reaching Grand Final — that's beyond the target. That's the aspiration. But the commitment is Semifinal."
Day 1 team roster session
Coach Guerri confirmed Day 1 session focus:
- 09:00-12:00 UTC-3: Individual aim + reflex conditioning. Aim_botz routines + specific-scenario recovery from post-holiday period.
- 13:00-16:00 UTC-3: Team briefing session. Post-Cologne meta review (Anubis patch, SG553 buff impact, MongolZ tactical evolution).
- 16:00-19:00 UTC-3: Light 1v1 + 3v3 scrim scenarios. No full 5v5 scrim block — Day 1 kept conservative for physical baseline establishment.
The paiN-FURIA rivalry frame revives
paiN separately opened their São Paulo bootcamp July 20 (one day ahead of FURIA). Both Brazilian tier-1 rosters now in dedicated pre-Rio-Major mode. Historic paiN-FURIA head-to-head at Brazilian Majors: FURIA 4-3 lifetime. The 2022 Rio Major produced the last head-to-head at IEM Rio 2022 (FURIA 2-0 semifinal). If both reach Rio Major top-4, the head-to-head resumes.
The Brazilian home-crowd factor
Portuguese-language broadcast partnership confirmed for BLAST Rio Major:
- SportTV Brasil — primary Portuguese-language partner. Diogo Iviu, Fábio decenty, Rui stiv reprise the Spring Finals desk.
- Globo (secondary): Confirmed as second Portuguese-language broadcast partner for the Rio Major Grand Final specifically. This is the largest Brazilian mainstream broadcaster ever to cover a CS Major.
- ESPN Brasil: Confirmed for the Group Stage + Playoff Stage in compact format.
