About MAC-10 | Red Filigree
The MAC-10 | Red Filigree in Factory New is one of CS2's most ornate SMG finishes. Released in the Operation Hydra Case (May 2017), Red Filigree drops gold-leaf scrollwork over a deep crimson red base — a baroque visual language pulled from luxury firearms engraving rather than tactical equipment.
Why this finish is collectible
The MAC-10's competitive niche is anti-eco, which suppresses skin demand for most finishes. Red Filigree breaks the rule: collectors pursue it for the artistic execution. Among Hydra-era skins, it's one of the few that shows up in trade-up profile collections rather than active inventories.
FN preservation specifics
The gold filigree is fine-line work — wear blurs the smaller flourishes first. FN keeps the engraving readable at full detail; MW is acceptable but visibly softer. For collectors who care about the design, FN is functionally required.
